Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) today released the following statement in response to President Obama’s rejection of the Keystone XL Oil Pipeline:

“The Keystone pipeline has bipartisan support in Congress and overwhelming support from the American people because we understand, better than the President, the benefits this energy project will have for our country. Approving it would have been a no-brainer – it would directly create thousands of U.S. jobs, lower gas prices even further at the pump, and protect American energy security by allowing more than one million additional barrels of oil to flow to U.S. refineries. Today the President put liberal special interests over the needs of the American people,” Blackburn said.
