Blackburn Attends Reagan National Defense Forum
Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) traveled to Simi Valley, CA over the weekend where she participated in the Reagan National Defense Forum. Blackburn was part of a panel moderated by Fox News Channel’s National Security Correspondent, Jennifer Griffin, to discuss Heroism and Valor in Today’s Battlefield. Other members of the panel also included Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta, United States Army (Ret.), Medal of Honor Recipient; Mr. Pete Hegseth, Chief Executive Officer, Concerned Veterans for America, U.S. Army (Ret.); General Paul Hester (Ret.), Associate Vice President, GE Aviation; and General David G. Perkins, Commanding General, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine.
“Service members returning from tours of duty face many challenges,” Blackburn said. “From PTSD to financial and relationship difficulties, re-adjusting to life stateside takes time. The families of service members, in particular spouses, play an important role in this process and should also be considered heroes. I look forward to continuing to work with the Ft. Campbell community to ensure that soldiers and their families receive all of the support they need.”
The Reagan National Defense Forum (RNDF) brings together leaders and key stakeholders in the defense community - including members of Congress, civilian officials and military leaders from the Defense Department and industry to address the health of our national defense and stimulate a discussion that promotes policies that strengthen the US military in the future.
