Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) today issued the following statement on the 70th Anniversary of D-Day.

“Seventy years ago, brave American military forces, along with the Allied Expeditionary Force, took the beaches of Normandy. Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne and the 101st Airborne numbered in the thousands. Carried out on land, in sea, and from air, the invasion began the march across Europe ending with Allied victory. Many were lost or wounded and we honor the bravery and devotion that led them into battle. In the Tennessee 7th Congressional District, today especially we remember the mighty men from the 101st Screaming Eagles whose rendezvous with destiny assured that freedom and freedom's cause would continue her march around the world.”
