Blackburn Works to Protect Access to Quality Medical Care for Tennessee's Most Vulnerable
Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued the following statement regarding an announcement from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS has granted the request of the Tennessee Congressional Delegation to amend the Tennessee Medicaid waiver in order for certain hospitals to receive payments for the services they provide to the poor and uninsured.
“I’m happy that my Tennessee colleagues and I were successful in obtaining a partial payment that is crucial for safety net hospitals such as Maury Regional Medical Center. The Delegation is continuing to work with CMS to obtain a permanent fix to a problem that was created in the roll out of TennCare in 1994.”
