Washington, Dec 13, 2010 - On news of Judge Henry Hudson’s District Court ruling which struck down mandatory coverage provisions in the new health care law, Congressman Marsha Blackburn (TN-7) a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, with jurisdiction over health care, made the following statement:

“The court has upheld a concern many of us raised when the law was under debate. Namely; the Federal Government does not have the right to compel Americans to buy anything. This is one more tenant of ObamaCare that has proven unworkable. We now have a law on the books that will not improve the quality of care, will not reduce the cost of care, and will add billions to the national debt. This is a law we need to repeal and replace as soon as possible.”
